Grass Jasper
Late summer. Everything has gone to seed. The field is cream and tan and scattered through with dark — the exact palette of a landscape that's done blooming and isn't apologizing for it.
That's grass jasper. The speckled pattern looks organic in a way that's hard to explain until you're holding it — like something that grew rather than formed. Each bead is slightly different in how the dark speckling falls across the warm cream base, which makes the whole bracelet feel alive even in its stillness.

THE STONE
Grass Jasper microcrystalline quartz / silicon dioxide / opaque chalcedony
Grass jasper is a variety of jasper — an opaque, fine-grained form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) — distinguished by its characteristic speckled patterning of dark dendritic markings scattered across a warm cream to tan base. The dark spots and streaks are formed by iron or manganese oxide inclusions that permeate the stone during its slow formation in sedimentary or volcanic rock. Jasper as a stone type has one of the longest histories of use in human culture — it appears in ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Native American traditions, used for everything from carved amulets and seals to decorative objects and tools. The name "grass jasper" is a trade name that describes the stone's visual character — that scattered, organic speckle that resembles a sun-bleached field or dried grass. Most grass jasper on the market today comes from regions in Africa and Asia. It is a hard, durable stone that polishes well and holds its finish reliably over time.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Grass jasper is a durable, hard-wearing stone and one of the lower-maintenance options in this collection. Remove before swimming, soaking, or showering to protect the stretch cord. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Store flat or in a pouch between wears. This bracelet is built to last with basic care.
