Rhodonite doesn't just pick one pink and commit to it. It carries depth — deep berry, dusty rose, dark veining that moves through each bead like something that's been through something and kept going anyway.

These are 8mm round beads, smooth and substantial without being heavy. The color shifts bead to bead in that natural way that only happens when something comes out of the ground rather than a factory. Some are deeper, some lighter, all of them complex in a way that gets better the longer you look.

THE STONE

Rhodonite manganese inosilicate / pink to deep rose / black manganese oxide veining

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral whose distinctive pink-to-rose color comes from its manganese content, while the dark veining visible in most specimens is caused by manganese oxide — the same element, oxidized differently over time at the surface of the stone. It forms in metamorphic and metasomatic rock, typically in association with other manganese minerals, and has been found in significant deposits in Russia, Australia, Sweden, Peru, and the United States. The name comes from the Greek word "rhodon," meaning rose. Rhodonite has been used as an ornamental and decorative stone for centuries — in Russia it was historically called orletz, or "the eagle stone," because eagles were said to place it in their nests, and it was used extensively in the decorative arts of the Imperial era, appearing in columns, vases, and architectural elements. It was also used in jewelry and carvings across pre-Columbian South America. The combination of its warm pink tones and the dark, graphic veining makes it one of the more visually interesting stones in the mineral world — warm in color but with a complexity that keeps it from being soft.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Rhodonite is a moderately durable stone and holds up well to daily wear with basic care. Remove before swimming, soaking, or showering — prolonged water exposure can weaken the stretch cord over time. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Store flat or in a pouch away from harder stones that could scratch the surface. The dark veining is a natural part of the stone and will not rub off.
