THE STONE

Agate is a banded form of chalcedony — microcrystalline quartz — and has been used by humans for thousands of years across nearly every ancient culture, from Egyptian amulets to Roman seals to Native American tools. The crackled surface texture in this variety develops naturally through the stone's internal fracture patterns, giving each bead a surface that looks like aged clay or dried earth. No two beads look exactly the same. The coconut shell spacers are made from the hard outer shell of the coconut palm, polished and shaped — a natural material used in jewelry and decorative objects across Southeast Asia and the Pacific for centuries.

The wood beads are natural hardwood, finished to a smooth polish in a warm walnut-brown tone. Wood bead jewelry has roots in traditions across Asia, Africa, and the Americas — used for everything from prayer beads to trade goods to everyday adornment. The shell beads are natural shell, cream and white, shaped and polished. Shell has been used in human jewelry and ornamentation longer than almost any other material — shell beads found at archaeological sites date back over 100,000 years, making it one of the oldest known forms of personal adornment in human history.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

This stack contains natural materials that each have their own care needs — the simplest approach is to treat the whole set with the same basic care. Keep away from water entirely: remove before swimming, showering, washing hands, or any prolonged moisture exposure. Wood can warp and crack with repeated water exposure, and shell can become brittle over time. Avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions. Store flat or in a pouch between wears. Wipe each bracelet clean with a soft dry cloth as needed. With basic care this stack will last.
